The AFTERMATH OF hUMANISM
Young Woman with Unicorn (1506) by Raphael
From any and every reasonable perspective the lasting influences of Humanism have vastly affected ideas, thoughts, religion, societies, politics, philosophy, and art. The influence of Humanism has been vastly sustained throughout subsequent human history. Although, most people would see Humanism as progressive, some others feel differently.
An indisputable positive affect: Humanistic Philosophy advanced education in ways that the world had never seen before, and to a degree that might never be matched again. Unlike the Middle Ages, people became more concerned with education which lead to free thinking and self-expression – once freed, the masses were never going back. Humanism created a more secular world during and after the Renaissance. After Humanism, the main focus for both natural and religious philosophy was no longer the church. Since people were educated they began to conduct individual thoughts, which eventually lead to the Reformation of the church and the church no longer had such an absolute control over the people.
Another pervasive and lasting result of Humanism is that the art world became forever more secular as well. Like previously stated, before Humanism in the Renaissance, art world, artists were only allowed to make art that pertained to Catholicism and God. But after Humanism, artists were allowed to create indisputable and forever more freely.
On the other hand, some people viewed Humanism to be a corrupt philosophy. Some religious philosophers, committed religious followers, anti-humanists, and others argued that humans as a whole should have stayed under the confining powers of the church for various reasons.
The all-encompassing, unarguable, historical significance of Humanism in Western civilization, and it's lasting influence to the Renaissance way out of the Middle Ages is one of the most prolific improvements of the human condition and it's advancement to the benefit of all mankind.

"Now I believe I can hear the philosophers protesting that it can only be misery to live in folly, illusion, deception and ignorance, but it isn't—it's human."
